NAIROBI, Feb 17 (AFP) - A top rebel leader in the Democratic
Republic of Congo (DRC), Arthur Zahidi Ngoma, is leaving the rebel
Congolese Rally for Democracy (RCD), he said on Wednesday.
"I announce my total withdrawal from the RCD and I will now
undertake any action to mobilise all the active forces in the nation
for a Congolese and peaceful alternative to the crisis," Ngoma told
AFP by telephone.
